You can now easily check your PNR Status from IndianRailGov.in official website, to check our Indian Railway PNR Status you will only need the PNR Number which will be printed on the ticket.
You can just navigate to http://www.indianrail.gov.in/pnr_Enq.html and enter your PNR and Enter Captcha and click on Get Status.
You can also get your Indian Railways PNR Status through SMS by just sending
SMS "PNR <10 digit PNR Number>" send it to 139
Or
SMS PNR <10 digit PNR Number> send it to 54959
